  REACH OUT EVENTS

We believe that it is vital for us to reach out to others with the news that God loves people and that He has demonstrated His love and mercy by sending His Son Jesus to create a way for people to connect with this loving Father. Therefore on a regular basis we go out into the community in an effort to “reach out” to others with this message of love and mercy. On approximately a monthly basis we do something called Servant Evangelism. We go out and hand out sodas at busy intersections, hand out newspapers, give away candy or flowers, wrap Christmas presents, or any host of other things. We give everything away for FREE as a practical way to show people that God’s love is for FREE, no strings attached.

We also “reach out” into the community in an effort to demonstrate God’s mercy to those who are in need. We believe that one of our responsibilities as a church is to do our part in helping to meet the needs of the less privileged in our community and around the world. That means we reach out to those who struggle to make ends meet or who have been separated by our society either because of status, family composition, financial situation, age, or race.

We welcome you to join us for our reach out events. They are great times where we get to demonstrate God’s love and mercy in action. Join us for one of our upcoming events. Please call the church office if you need further details.

PRAYER AND WORSHIP SERVICE

At different times throughout the year we have special times of worship and prayer on Sunday evenings. At these services we have extended times of worship and spend time praying for our community. These times are focused on drawing near to God and then spending time talking to Him about the needs of our community and listening for Him to speak to us. These services are very experiential in nature as we come together to worship and pray.

The next Prayer & Worship Service is not scheduled yet. Please check back Later

  FAMILIES

One of our major focuses here at the Lancaster Vineyard is families. We believe that it is difficult raising a family and we understand that there are a lot of stressors involved. We also believe that everyone in a family is important and that adults and children are both loved by God and able to serve Him and our neighbors in practical ways.

Because we value families we have some things which we strive for:

- We believe it is important for children to have a place that is safe for them to come to and experience God’s love. Therefore we have created a kid’s church environment where safety is stressed so that your child can learn and you as a parent do not have to worry about them. We have a system in place where you check your child in and out. If a problem ever arises with your child in the midst of a service we have a way to page you. As an added safety measure, our teachers and helpers go through a background check.

- We believe that on Sunday mornings parents can use some space to spend time in a worship gathering. Because of all the demands on parents during the week, we find that it can be beneficial to give the children opportunity to participate in teaching and worship in kid’s church for the whole time the adults are in the adult gathering. We find that this can help mom and dad focus on worshipping God and applying the teaching to their lives. However, we also understand that there are times and situations where parents or children would feel more comfortable in the main service. Therefore children are welcome in the main gathering.

- We believe that it is beneficial for families to serve together. Truth is children have so much to offer to God even as children. Therefore we encourage parents to bring their children to many of our “reach out” events so that whole families can be part of the fun of serving God and others. We believe that not only are our children the church of tomorrow, they are also a vital part of the church of today.

- We believe that families can use tools and resources. The world is definitely becoming a different place and with that comes a whole host of challenges for raising families. Therefore we find it necessary to help provide families with resources and tools to help out. Some of the ways we attempt to do this is to offer some of our small groups with childcare provided so that families can attend without worrying about getting a sitter. We have upcoming events where we provide occasions for special seminars regarding parenting issues and “Break nights” where the babysitting is on us and parents get a break to go out and have some fun. We will also be providing a single parent fair where single parents can get their oil changed, as well as have other needs met, all for FREE.
  THE ARTS

We believe that God loves artists. God is creative. And He has placed creativity in us as individuals which we can in turn express to Him. Therefore we want to create an environment where artists can explore and express this creativity which God has placed in them. Although still in development, we will attempt to create opportunities in our worship gatherings, as well as in other settings, where artists can share their creativity whether it be dance, music, poetry painting, sculpture, film, etc.

Watch for further details to come.
  HEALING GROUPS

We believe that God desires to bring us healing in all areas of our lives to help us find wholeness. Therefore we will soon be kicking off our first of many healing groups. These groups are places where we begin to ask God to touch our life’s hurts in order that we might become free of some of the baggage we carry through our lives, live more fulfilling lives, and be better able to serve Him. Special care is taken to make these groups safe and non-judgmental so that people feel free to share and seek healing. These groups are characterized by time talking about God’s truth in relation to the hurts which we experience in life and time talking and praying with others to help facilitate support and healing. These groups are offered for fixed periods of time rather than an open-ended support group setting. Watch for another healing group to kick off in 2007.
